You've got some really cool ideas here. The vocals sound awesome. The chord progression reminds me a lot of Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan. Maybe that's what inspired you? If you've never heard of it before I urge you to check it out. There's this haunting piano section about 3 mins in that may sound reminiscent.

Mawnz responds:

Thanks alot man! You are spot on with what song I got inspiration from, haha :D I love the piano part in Clubbed to Death!!

Awesome work, this sounds extremely well done. You didn't really slip up anywhere, the song was consistently awesome through out the whole thing. This song doesn't even get remotely repetitive, which is a huge contributor to its awesomeness.

I really like the side-chaining on the base. It's definitely not over the top, a mistake a lot of people tend to make. I was wondering, how are you getting that sound? There must be a vst or something for that kind of side-chaining, cause it really doesn't sound like it's from compressing the kick.

The synths that you used are awesome. Along with that, so are your transitions: they're just simply kickass, and original sounding. Also, despite what people are saying, I think the vocals at the beginning sound sweet.

Excellent job!

Koriigahn responds:

Thanks!

As for sidechaining, its just a kick layered with a sub with the bass eq set to maximum. Not joking at all, i just slapped a compressor on it so it doesn't clip and it sidechained everything!

Thanks for the review :)

Tight...

Wow, this is great.

For starters, that bass-line that you start off with is kickass. It's really what pulled me into the song, and it couldn't have been done any better in my opinion.

The percussion is added subtly in the beginning and just sounds really, really cool. Great job on that.

The lead you've chosen fits really well, too. Especially at 1:40, when the song really starts, it's just fantastic and very professional-sounding. Same goes for the synth at 2:20. That just sounds really cool.

I don't really have the energy to nit-pick stuff in this song at the moment hehe, but this song is just about flawless anyway.

Great job!

ZuneInc responds:

Thanks for the positive feedback, i appreciate that after putting so much work into those synths :)

Wow, this is just, great. Really. Everything you've done here is perfectly executed, especially the drums/bass.

You do a great job of mixing it up, but the melody does start to get a little repetitive about halfway through. I think it would have been fine ending it at about 2:35, but it's not that big of a deal.

Great job!

S-Rock responds:

thanks :D

Nah...

You didn't really do much here. You just took the midi and replaced it with a different lead, then gave it some cheap drums and a background to loop. This is by NO means a remix.

I can't really give you any helpful advice here, seeing as you're just lazy.

3 stars for that background melody you had going.

Rhyhart responds:

I'm kind of confused by this comment because If I was being lazy I could have easily put the regular song on here and call it my own but I didn't. You say its not a remix but I made a background and some "cheap drums" drums to go with it. If I was being lazy I wouldn't have made this background the "cheap drums". So I don't quite understand your definition of a remix. The reason I did have the background melody loop is because I wanted to give it that rave feel. Another thing I dont understand is if you don't like the song just go to a different page. Otherwise with this review your wasting my time and your own. I would say thanks for the feedback but I really don't see that to be neccessary.

My god, I have no idea why, but for some reason this song seriously makes me think of Paper Mario. I think it's the melodies, however I can't think how this song resembles Paper Mario in any way. It's really kind of eerie...

Subliminal messaging, perhaps?

IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!

Anyway, on the song itself, I don't really know what to say. It's, well... it's weird. I don't know what to tell you... xD

Beacon515L responds:

I've never ever played Paper Mario... so sorry to burst your conspiratorial bubble. And of course it's weird, it's all synth! XD Thanks for stopping by! XD

Wow...

Aw man, I remember downloading this when it was on the new submissions list... I loved it then, and I still love it now. This song is pure perfection, and I can't stop listening to it :D

You have talent, young padawan...

NickPerrin responds:

Thanks a ton for the review! Personally I think my Symphony of the Night arrangement I've also uploaded here is my best tribute to Castlevania music, but this track here is what started it all for me in terms of videogame music arrangements, and I really appreciate the kind words.
Haha and yes, I am still a padawan when it comes to music, there is always so much more to learn and improve upon. Thanks for reminding me of that fact as well.

Awesome!

Hehe, I was thinking the same thing as jared about the lead. Regardless, it sounds awesome!

I really like all the effects and pads used in this, it really gives the song atmosphere!

shizeet responds:

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked the sounds and all - so I guess that they weren't too..uhh... "out there" I guess haha.

wow...

Wow, this is awesome... seriously, this deserves more than a FOUR.

Nice job!!

PinkPistol620 responds:

Thanks! It took so much work to record all of this.

Awesome

Very relaxing and professional-sounding! I'ma download this and put it in my "sleep playlist" :D

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

SWEET! I wish everyone had a sleep playlist.

Don't give me that look.
